Pop star Rihanna has previously said no to performing at the Super Bowl Halftime show. Next year the new mum will take centre stage.
Rihanna, who gave birth in May to her first child with partner rapper A$AP Rocky, posted to Instagram to confirm the announcement.
Last year she was named a national hero of the Caribbean island of Barbados, where she was born and raised.

Rihanna has sold more than 60 million albums and 215 million digital tracks worldwide.
She has won eight Grammys and her music videos have been viewed more than 11.8 billion times.
The entrepreneur is also behind the Fenty cosmetic brand, with Forbes certifying her billionaire status last year.
