Once one of Hollywood's most prominent couples, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie — who were known as "Brangelina" — are no strangers to the spotlight.
Actress and filmmaker Jolie has revealed new details about the abuse she and her children allegedly experienced at the hands of her now ex-husband Pitt.
While on a private flight in 2016, Pitt grabbed her by the head and shook her, before then choking one of their children and striking another when they tried to defend her.
The descriptions of abuse surfaced in a cross-complaint Jolie filed in Los Angeles on Tuesday as part of the pair's dispute over a French home and winery they owned together.
On September 14, 2016, Pitt was reported to have lost his temper in front of Jolie and one or more of his children while on a private plane.
"No charges have been filed in this matter."
Five days after the plane incident, Jolie filed for divorce and listed their separation date as September 15, the day after the alleged plane incident.
It was reported an extended physical and verbal outburst by Pitt on Sept 12, 2016.
On this day, Jolie, Pitt and their six children were travelling from the winery, Château Miraval, to Los Angeles.
"Pitt's aggressive behaviour started even before the family got to the airport, with Pitt having a confrontation with one of the children," the filing says.
He accused her of being too deferential to the children and verbally attacked her.
Later he pulled her into the bathroom and began yelling at her
"Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall," it says.
