According to NBC News, former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin will move on to the general election in November to compete for the state's lone House seat.
The new ranked-choice voting procedure was used to hold the extraordinary election. No contender is expected to receive a majority of the vote in the first round, according to NBC. The final tabulation of the race's results is not anticipated until later this month.
In the primary election in June, Palin won after receiving Trump's endorsement. Since leaving her position as governor, Palin, like the former president, has worked as a political analyst and reality-TV personality.
