UAE: A rockfall in Khorfakkan has stopped the road to Al Suhub rest area.

After falling pebbles blocked the street way, the Sharjah Police declared on Sunday that the road leading to Khorfakkan's Al Suhub Rest Area will be temporarily closed. Strong rains in the vicinity were the reason for the rock fall.
The police reaffirmed in a series of tweets that everyone who had visited the rest home was safe and that there was no cause for concern.
They organized the admission and withdrawal of machinery and equipment from the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority and the Roads and Transport Authority after taking the appropriate safeguards.
"As soon as a report was received to the Central Operations Room, stating that rocks had fallen on the street leading to Al Suhub rest area, the police formed a team to deal with the situation by formulating the right strategies and minimizing the impact," said Brigadier General Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al-Naour, Director General of Central Operations at the Sharjah Police General Command.
He emphasized that the police and security teams arrived right away to ensure the visitors to the rest house were safe. They gave them assurances that all security personnel would open a temporary exit to make the process safer.
Al Naour claimed that all involved teams are extremely prepared to handle these problems.
He said that the mission was successful because to collaboration between the Khorfakkan Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority, the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, the Department of Planning, Survey, and National Ambulance, and the general public.
The well-liked location, also known as Cloud Lounge, was shuttered for one week in July of last year due to erratic weather.
In 2021, a public rest area on a mountainside that rises 600 meters above sea level was established. A 5.63-kilometer road climbs up to the rest house and provides a sweeping view of Khorfakkan, a coastal city.
