When Ryan Garcia of Victorville, California took against former two-time world champion Javier Fortuna of La Romana, Dominican Republic, he maintained his perfect record. On Saturday, July 16, the two faced off in the main event live streamed on DAZN from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, making it Sunday, July 17, in the UK and Australia.
The twelve-round super lightweight fight, which was supposed to last, was stopped in the middle. Garcia defeated Fortuna in the fourth and fifth rounds en route to the sixth-round stoppage victory.

With the win, Ryan Garcia advances to 23-0 with 19 knockouts and keeps his perfect record. Javier Fortuna now stands at 37-4-1 with 26 KOs.

Ryan Garcia remarked, "I want to thank God first and foremost." "I am aware of my good performance for myself. I maintained my integrity and was clear-cut and sharp. There was nothing crazy I did. I simply had to put it all together, like I did tonight, knowing how excellent of a fighter I am.
In Garcia's place, Joseph Diaz Jr. defeated Fortuna that evening at Banc of California Stadium, just a short drive from Crypto.com Arena, by a unanimous vote. Garcia possessed the WBC interim lightweight title, which was vacant at the time, until he withdrew from the bout with Fortuna shortly after it was announced. Diaz won it.

Garcia, who was fighting for the second time with Joe Goossen in his corner, defeated Fortuna in just under 12 rounds.
With 2:41 remaining in the sixth round, his right-left combo forced Fortuna to the ground. Before Fortuna even attempted to get back to his feet, Cantu counted to ten.
