Russian authorities advise the people of Kherson to utilize roubles.

In occupied portions of the Kherson region, Russian imposed officials have persuaded the populace to convert their savings into Russian roubles.
Payments made in the hryvnia, the currency of Ukraine, will stop on January 1, according to a video posted on Tuesday by the commander of the occupying forces, Vladimir Saldo.
He attributed the sharp decline in the hryvnia's value to Ukraine's economic woes, claiming that the currency was "turning into paper."
Although Ukrainian forces took back the province's capital in November, Russian forces are still in control of a sizable chunk of the Kherson region. The rouble is already used in the seized areas of Luhansk and Donetsk.
ruble, also spelled rouble, the monetary unit of Russia (and the former Soviet Union) and Belarus (spelled rubel). The origins of the Russian ruble as a designation of silver weight can be traced to the 13th century. In 1704 Tsar Peter I (the Great) introduced the first regular minting of the ruble in silver.
