Paul Ryder, a bassist for Happy Mondays, passed away.

At the age of 58, celebrity Paul Ryder passed away.
On Friday, July 15, early in the morning, the bass player, who was a founding member of the Manchester band, passed suddenly.
Shaun Ryder, a bandmate and sibling, verified the news on social media and called Paul "a great pioneer and icon."

The cause of Paul's death is unknown, and the family has requested discretion.
The group, which became synonymous with the "Madchester" music scene, along with other northern English bands like The Stone Roses and Inspiral Carpets, found popularity with their fusion of psychedelia and alternative rock.
Through the 40-year history of the Happy Mondays, Ryder has continued to be an active member.
In addition, he started the group Big Arm, which recorded the album Radiator in 2008 and performed DJ sets all over the world.
Paul and the rest of the original Happy Mondays lineup were announced to reunite in January 2012.
One of those paying respects was guitarist Andy Bell of Oasis and Ride, who tweeted: "Really terrible news about Paul Ryder, RIP."
Ian Brown, the singer for The Stone Roses, added: "Ryder, have peace. Big love to Amelia, Jacob, Sonny, Chico, and the family and band from a terrific friend and musician. Longtime Pabs, I love you."
