OSKAR SALA, WHO? GOOGLE DOODLE HONORS SCIENTIST AND COMPOSER OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC

Oskar Sala was a brilliant physicist and composer with classical training who later became a pioneer in the field of electronic music.
The Google Doodle for today commemorates Oskar Sala, a renowned musician and inventor of the mixture-trautonium, an early electronic synthesiser, who would have turned 112 years old today.

Sala never received an Oscar, despite receiving numerous honors for his cinema scores. He gave his initial batch of tautonium to the German Museum for Contemporary Technology in 1995.
The Doodle continues by stating that Sala "introduced the field of subharmonics" through his work in electronic music. "With his commitment and inventiveness, he transformed himself into a one-man symphony."
