Moscow rejects the Zelenskky peace plan

Russia rejected a peace proposal put forth by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which prompted Thursday's blitz.
According to Zelenskyy's ten-point plan, Russia must respect Ukraine's territorial integrity and leave his nation with no military.
However, the Kremlin is adamant that Kiev recognise Russia's annexation of the four partially occupied Ukrainian provinces of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia, which Moscow unilaterally declared as its own in September.
Additionally, Russia asserts that Ukraine must recognize the loss of Crimea, a Black Sea peninsula that Moscow annexed in 2014.
The largest war in Europe since World War II, Russia's conflict in Ukraine has killed tens of thousands of people, displaced millions from their homes, and left significant areas of the nation in ruins.
Kyiv has urged with its partners in the West to give them more air defenses. The United States, which is Ukraine's biggest supporter, just decided to provide it the highly desired Patriot missile defense system.
