Millie Bobby Brown 'burst into tears' when she saw Jamie Campbell Bower's villain Vecna during filming of Stranger Things' fourth season.

With "Stranger Things 4"'s final episodes now available on Netflix, viewers could finally see the confrontation between the Hawkins children and Vecna, the season's demon adversary (Jamie Campbell Bower).
The new season is the most ambitious the new program has ever attempted, with a rumored $300 million budget for the entire season, which is more expensive than the majority of blockbuster blockbusters. The season finale, which clocks in at about two hours and fifty minutes, is particularly taxing on the senses. However, the show's increased budget obviously works in its favor when it comes to the beautifully built sets, animals, and action scenes.

Vecna was one of the main ways the Duffer Brothers utilized the Netflix funding. Vecna is a horrifying monster from the Upside Down, a horrifying creature with claw-like digits and red, malformed skin wrapped in tentacles. The fact that he is a real person makes him even more terrifying. Vecna was created using actual effects, and the Duffer Brothers were keen about using them, so each day of filming, Bower sat for more than seven hours to have the prosthetics applied to his body. The Vecna costume appeared extremely realistic since the prosthetics were made by renowned designer Barrie Gower, whose earlier works include "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" and "Game of Thrones."
It turns out that Bower's co-star Millie Bobbie Brown experienced some mild stress as a result of bringing such a horrifying creature to life.
"Stranger Things" actor Jamie Campbell Bower claimed in a Variety interview that Millie Bobby Brown cried because of his presence in one scene. When Eleven, played by the actress, is tied up and confronts Vecna in the scene that offended Brown, Bower outlined what transpired. "She was raised in a position where she is bound. When I approached her, she started crying. She wouldn't look at me and appeared to be utterly appalled by the situation."

When Brown discovered her scene companion wasn't a real monster, she immediately became more composed. According to Bower, it was the lingering tobacco smell that made her suspicious. Because I smoke, one of the things she said after she cried and I made it clear that she recognized me as the perpetrator was, "I knew it was you when I could smell cigarettes."
One of the few new characters for Seasson 4 is Vecna, who makes for an important addition to the "Stranger Things" universe because he is the first significant antagonist from the Upside Down to have human goals rather than being a mindless beast acting just on instinct. Due to the remnants of humanity in his demonic form, he is now much more dangerous and repulsive. It's difficult to picture someone being in the same room with him and not crying.

In 2016, a TV show debuted that was able to simultaneously satisfy our hankerings for 1980s nostalgia and intricate science fiction continuity. Intoxicatingly blending the old and the modern, Steven Spielberg's blockbuster adventure and contemporary meta-textual pop culture fun are both there in Stranger Things. Additionally, over the course of three seasons, it has developed into a program with an intricate in-story universe that currently covers almost two decades.
We're taking the time to delve into the entire complex history of the town of Hawkins, Indiana's association with the shadowy dimension known as the Upside Down, from the first experiments conducted at Hawkins Lab to the Battle of Starcourt and beyond, whether you're a devoted fan of the show simply looking for a refresher or a casual fan looking for a point of reference. The complete Stranger Things timeline is described in here. SPOILERS for each of Stranger Things' three seasons follow!
According to the companion novel Suspicious Minds, the string of events that led to what we now know as Stranger Things actually started more than a decade before the series itself. Dr. Martin Brenner travels to Hawkins National Laboratory in Hawkins, Indiana in the year 1969 with a young child he names 008. The young woman, whose true name was Kali, had been removed from her home after it became apparent that she had the potential to develop amazing skills, specifically the capacity to change how those around her perceived her.

To supervise the MKUltra program, which gave test subjects hallucinatory drug doses in an effort to give them superhuman skills, Dr. Brenner travels to Hawkins. Dr. Brenner totally overhauls the program upon his arrival in Hawkins, dismissing the test subjects currently present in the facility and introducing a new, more rigorous application process for potential applicants.
He finally encounters Terry Ives, who participated in MKUltra trials at Hawkins in the early 1970s, thanks to this improved screening technique. Terry was pregnant when the trials started, but she seemed unaware of it. When Dr. Brenner learns this, he comes up with a scheme to control Terry's future child at all means.
The first three seasons of Stranger Things largely took place in Hawkins, Indiana, a tiny town, but according to the Duffers, season four will travel to foreign locales. The major change coming in season 4 is, in Matt Duffer's words in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "it's going to open up a little bit, not necessarily in terms of scale, in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of enabling plotlines into regions outside of Hawkins."
Although the Duffers didn't specify which outdoor areas they intended, we can make some informed guesses based on season 3. Russia is obviously the first, given that is where the third season both started and ended. Possibly whatever bizarre events transpire in the fourth season will send the Hawkins team on a journey abroad. The as-yet-unidentified town that the Byers team now calls home is another compelling possibility. Although Joyce discussed her family's need for a new beginning frequently in season 3, the location of their new home was notably absent from any of the discussion, leaving every scenario open.
Ross Duffer claims that season 4 will seem "quite different" from what has come before, no matter where it takes us. However, he told EW, "I think that's the proper thing to do, and I think it'll be interesting."
