Israel consents to a harsh response to ICJ Palestinian actions

The right-wing government in Israel claims to have approved a number of punitive actions in response to a Palestinian effort to have the International Court of Justice rule on the long-standing occupation.
A moratorium on Palestinian construction in some areas of the Israeli-occupied West Bank is one of the measures announced by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing security cabinet on Friday. Another is using Palestinian funds to compensate the families of Israeli settlers and soldiers who were attacked by Palestinians.
The actions were a "reaction to the Palestinian Authority's determination to wage political and legal war against the State of Israel," according to Netanyahu's office.
The far-right security minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, expressed his hope in a tweet that further action will be done "against those who promote terrorism and want to put pressure on Israel."
According to Netanyahu's administration, Israel, which collects taxes on behalf of the PA, will utilize 139 million shekels ($39 million) of PA funds to compensate Palestinian armed attack victims and to balance the stipends the PA gives to attackers and their families.
It was stated that the restriction on Palestinian construction would apply to Area C of the West Bank, which makes up 60% of the occupied region and is entirely controlled by Israel.
