India praises RRR's Naatu song at the Golden Globes for creating history.

India is enjoying a rare Hollywood award victory after the regionally dubbed film RRR defeated Taylor Swift and Rihanna to win the Golden Globe for best song.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the "extremely special accomplishment" of the action movie's barnstorming, high-octane song, Naatu Naatu, winning the song-off.
According to local media sources, it was the first time an Indian film has taken home a prize at the festival.
Modi tweeted, "This prestigious honor has made every Indian very proud.

RRR, a Telugu-language movie from South India that was released in March, has attracted a sizable audience for a local production both at home and overseas.
RRR was also nominated for best non-English language picture, but Argentina, 1985 won the award.
Director SS Rajamouli claims that a sequence with the song was filmed in 2021, prior to Russia's invasion, outside the official mansion of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
It was a "unique" honor, according to Rajamouli, a critically acclaimed producer of some of India's biggest blockbusters in recent years.
“SPEECHLESS Music truly knows no boundaries. I thank each and every fan across the globe for shaking their leg and making it popular ever since the release. #GoldenGlobes,” he tweeted.
In the song, co-stars Ram Charan and Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Jr. pound the ground in a strenuous routine that combines several dance genres and has generated internet imitation videos that have gone viral.
"I choreographed it in two months. The choreographer, Prem Rakshit, told Indian media that 43 retakes were made throughout the 20 days of filming.
Shah Rukh Khan, an actor from Bollywood, joined others in celebrating the victory.
“Sir just woke up and started dancing to Naatu Naatu celebrating your win at Golden Globes,” Khan told Rajamouli on Twitter. “Here’s to many more awards & making India so proud!!” he added.
Hindi is the dominant language. The most successful film industry in the world is in Bollywood, in India. Each year, it produces thousands of films in numerous Indian languages, many of which are dubbed and seen by viewers throughout South Asia, Central Asia, Africa, and other regions.
Before his victory, Rajamouli told The Hollywood Reporter that international acclaim was "very important."
