Sonu Sood, a Bollywood actor, was criticized by India's Northern Railway on Wednesday for riding on the footboard of a moving train, calling it "hazardous."
Northern Railway referred to him as the Indian people's role model and claimed that the social media video he posted would mislead the country.
"Dear, @SonuSood, You are a role model for millions of people in the country and the world. Travelling on train steps is dangerous, and this type of video may send the wrong message to your fans. Please do not do this! Enjoy a smooth and safe journey," Northern Railway tweeted.
The tweet was sent after Sood published a video clip of a train ride on December 13 in which he is seen sitting on the footboard at the door and clutching onto a pole as the train appears to be going quickly.
Additionally, the Mumbai Railway Police asked him not to perform this trick in real life and issued a warning, claiming it was risky.
"@SonuSood travelling on the footboard may be a source of 'Entertainment' in movies, not real life! Let's follow all safety guidelines and ensure a 'Happy New Year' for all," GRP Mumbai tweeted.
