Elon Musk loses his position as the world's richest person to Bernard Arnault of LVMH.

According to Forbes, Elon Musk is no longer the richest person in the world. The French multinational corporation LVMH has dethroned the business tycoon to take over the number two slot on Forbes' list of the world's richest people.
According to Forbes, Arnault is currently worth an astounding $188.6 billion, while Musk is valued at $176.8 billion.

The SpaceX CEO's contentious acquisition of Twitter has been heavily blamed for the decline in his net worth, and many have pointed to the $44 billion deal as one of the factors contributing to the decline in Tesla stock prices.
According to Matt Maley, chief market analyst at Miller Tabak, "the big issue is that many investors have lost some trust in Tesla because Musk is being compelled to devote so much of his attention on Twitter." According to other analysts, Musk's focus solely on Twitter at such a crucial time for Tesla is "not a good look."
Concerns among Tesla's investors that Musk's acquisition of the microblogging platform would be a distraction have been confirmed by his frequent tweeting and growing concentration on politics.
He sold over $7 billion worth of Tesla shares earlier this year, stating that it was crucial to prevent an emergency sale of the company's stock amid a legal dispute with Twitter.
