Customers of Rogers and Fido across Canada are experiencing service issues.

July 8, 2022By fanu benks

Early on Friday morning, numerous Rogers customers across Canada reported losing their cellphone and internet connections. The telecom giant later acknowledged the problem hours later.

The Toronto Police tweeted at around 6:30 a.m. that cell phone users may have trouble dialing 9-1-1.
Large portions of southern Ontario, Winnipeg, Montreal, and Moncton were among the areas most affected, according to the outage monitoring website Downdetector, which indicates that issues started at 5 a.m.

Although some people are only experiencing one or the other, total blackouts of both mobile and landline internet connectivity are the most often reported problems.
While Rogers customers endure with significant disruptions to work and life in general, those of us who use various providers for each or aren't with the company at all are undoubtedly grateful to start our mornings off rather routinely.

Twitter and Reddit are still flooded with complaints this morning despite the high number of people without service, and Rogers customer support is undoubtedly overburdened.

People have noticed that a few ATMs and business debit machines are also having issues.
The brand has not yet responded to the problem, therefore there is still no information on when networks might start up again.

It's not the first time this has happened in recent memory; last year, after a full day of no wifi connection, the business had to give clients credits.
