After a bus hits a landmine in Burkina Faso, ten civilians are murdered.

The deaths are the most recent ones associated with the expanding power of armed rebels opposing the government of the nation.
The government of Burkina Faso reported on Monday that a roadside bomb struck by a bus in the country's eastern region resulted in ten deaths and several injuries.
The bus was traveling from Fada N'Gourma, a market town, which is 220 kilometers (136 miles) from Ouagadougou, the capital, to Kantchari, a border town close to neighboring Niger.
According to a statement from the regional governor, Colonel Hubert Yameogo, the car struck a mine on Sunday afternoon while traveling close to the community of Bougui.
According to Yameogo, the injured were brought to the hospital in Fada N'Gourma, the largest city in the east, while the other passengers on the bus vanished. While attempting to find the missing passengers, the government is re-establishing security in the area.
Although no one has claimed responsibility, the attack took place in a region where the government is engaged in conflict with ISIL and al-Qaeda in North Africa forces (ISIS).
For more than six years, the nation has been plagued by violence associated with al-Qaeda and ISIL, which has claimed thousands of lives and uprooted about two million people. Due to the government's incapacity to stop the attacks, there were two military takeovers this year, with each military leader pledging to prioritize security.
However, armed factions are still carrying out raids and isolating large areas of land. Some of the hardest-hit areas of the country are in the east and the Sahel, where insurgents have surrounded towns and restrict civilian movement.
According to an internal security report for aid organizations reviewed by the Associated Press, Sunday's incident occurred the day after another explosive exploded in the east, between Ougarou and Matiacoali villages, injuring five soldiers. According to the investigation, an apartment close to a mining site was the target of the mine.
A resident of Fada N’Gourma who visited people in the hospital on Sunday told the AP that some of the severely injured had died and that everyone was terrified.
